Blanco, Texas is about an hour west of Austin, and the stunning view will take your breath away. Travel down FM 165 W and gaze at the rolling hillside.


This small, Texas town only has about 2,000 residents, but it's bursting with friendly charm. When you arrive in the square, antiquated buildings will catch your eye.

Grab a bite from Redbud Cafe at 410 4th St. The soups, salads, and sandwiches are served in a familial atmosphere.

This historic building was only a courthouse between 1886 and 1900. When the county seat moved to Johnson City, this building was converted into an office space. During it's long life, it also served as a schoolhouse, a hospital, and a museum.

Today, the Old Blanco Courthouse stands as proud as ever. It's not uncommon to see weddings taking place within these historic walls.

This rustic dance hall has stood since the 19th century and preserves its rich legacy to this day. On the first Saturday of every month, Twin Sisters hosts public dances. This tradition has been going strong for the last 140 years.

The shaded hiking trails will shield you from the bright Texas sun.
