The National Park Service has been working on renovations of these beautiful properties. So do know as they examine the cost, ecological impact, and historical importance, that some buildings may be demolished. Yet other buildings have been restored and are ready to explore. Note that each building that is being examined will have barriers and a red sign in front of it, stating it is not safe to enter. The restored buildings will have a green sign by the entrance signifying a safe passage. We highly recommend visiting this location and to check ahead with the National Park Service before you go to be updated on this ongoing construction project.  Have you visited this abandoned town in the Smoky Mountains?
