Here’s Tennessee’s Top Outdoor Attraction… And You’ll Definitely Want To Do It
Oh, friends – you can’t fight it. The Great Smoky Mountains may feel like the bully on the block when it comes to hiking and camping and firefly dreamin’, and that’s because it kind of is. Tennessee flaunts the most visited national park in the United States, and it’s due to the stunning vistas and great weather. Memories are made here.

With 520,000 acres in total, Tennessee actually has the smaller half, giving North Carolina the lions share of land. That doesn't mean we don't get in on the beauty, though - just look at that shot!

Clingman's Dome is the highest spot in the park, measuring in at 6,643 feet. Plus, you can hike to the overlook.

There are, however, a total of 16 mountains that crack the 6,000-foot mark. It's a gorgeous place, and you're sure to leave with a bit of beauty rattling around in that mind of yours.

Did you know the Great Smokies are known as the Salamander Capitol of the World?! Now you do.

The park's only hotel, The LeConte Lodge, is actually only accessible by hiking, with no running water or electricity. Also, the hike is so steep that trained llamas are used to trek supplies up a couple times a week. Better be prepared for an exciting night!

Did you know that John D. Rockefeller donated $5 million towards the purchase of the park land? Thanks, Mr. Rockefeller!
