Most Tennesseans are completely in love with their stunning state – why? It’s positively gorgeous, of course. There are quite a few great places in East Tennessee that you can enjoy with a bit of gumption and a lot of adventure. Curious about our favorites…? Take a look!
1. Fall Creek Falls
Located in Van Buren and Bledsoe counties, Fall Creek Falls is one of the most iconic spots in East Tennessee, having been used as a set for Hollywood blockbusters and family outings.
2. Chilhowee Trails
Located out by Chattanooga, Chilhowie proffers beautiful views and the stunning weather of East Tennessee.
3. Radnor Lake
This Nashville hot spot is perfect for a quick and easy spin around the lake, and it's perfect for a contemplative afternoon.
4. Mousetail Landing
There's a drowned bunch of buildings under the water, with camping and hiking rounding out this neat park.
5. Virgin Falls
With 7.3 miles of trails to enjoy plus a view from heaven, Virgin Falls is definitely a spot you have to visit.
6. Big South Fork
The park offers three separate hiking guides on their website, all so you can plan the best day out in the wilderness that you can. It won't be hard.

Located out near Chattanooga, Savage Gulf is the perfect spot if you're looking for a secluded place to camp and hang out with your loved ones.
8. Burgess Falls
This state park and natural area is popular for fishing and their main trail to the gorgeous falls.
9. Bald River Gorge
With 3,721-acres of complete and utter wilderness to explore, these are some of the most secluded and beautiful hikes in the state.
10. Short Springs State Natural Area
With 1.6 miles of moderately traveled area, Short Springs is great if you're looking for a quick trip out and a solid turnaround.
