This Remote Restaurant In Tennessee Will Take You A Million Miles Away From Everything
If you’re looking for a sweet spot out in the middle of nowhere for your weekend plans, then you’re definitely going to want to plan a trip to The Cookie Jar in Dunlap, Tennessee. The locals are fans, and the owners truly care about their visitors. It’s a wonderful place to go if you have a hot second to jump in the car – but, just an FYI. They’re closed on Sundays in regards to the sabbath, so make sure you plan accordingly. Happy eating!

Located just outside of Dunlap, Tennessee, the cafe is only 40 minutes north of Chattanooga. Definitely worth the drive - but take heed. It's quite literally in the middle of nowhere. Seriously.

The Cookie Jar Cafe is on top of a hill on the Johnson Family Farm. The farm is a working dairy farm, and has been in the family for 150 years. Whoa!

Although their whole menu is amazing, crowd favorites include grilled meatloaf, fried okra and strawberry pie. All of their desserts are cooked from scratch, so make sure to save room! Also, curious about how they got their name? It's from the over 500 cookie jars they have in the restaurant!

After you're done eating, you have the opportunity to go out on their farmland which has a playground and a petting zoo. The kids will love the goats, sheep, ducks and donkeys.

Not a fan of petting all the animals? No problem! You can rest up on the porch in one of their lovely rockers, taking time to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.
Still curious? Take an inside look at the cafe, here!
