The Tennessee River is roughly 653 miles long and is known for being the largest tributary of the Ohio River. It runs through the famed Tennessee Valley and makes an appearance in cities like Knoxville and Chattanooga.

The river itself begins in east Knoxville at the confluence of the French Broad and Holston Rivers. With its headwaters on the eastern side of Tennessee, the river then runs at a sharp clip southwest towards Chattanooga.
