South Cumberland State Park is composed of a whopping 30,845 acres in the heart of Tennessee and stretches across four separate counties. Marion, Sequatchie, Grundy and Franklin counties can all call this stunning natural space their own.

The park is heavy with natural rock formations, waterfalls, gushing streams, and a series of panoramic overlooks and creeks. The Fiery Gizzard Trail is a solid 12.5 miles long, and has been noted as one of the best trails in the country.
South Cumberland State Park is great for a dip in a natural swimming hole, and you might even be able to cool off beneath a waterfall. There are multiple regions within the park itself, like the densely wooded Carter Natural Area and the natural stonework at Stone Door, that are bound to attract all sorts of nature-seekers.
You can head to the visitor's center if you're looking for locally-honed exhibits and comprehensive information on the park itself. There are also recreational fields in the park, and you can play anything from beach volleyball to tennis to baseball at the South Cumberland State Park.
