One Of Tennessee’s Only Drive-In Theaters Is Hiding In A Small Town And You’ll Want To Visit
They say that the livin’ is easy in the summertime, and they’re not wrong. Summer is the time for driving country roads, spending time outside, and enjoying the simple things in life. And of course, nothing puts those all together like a good old fashioned country drive-in. Just outside of Nashville, the Stardust Drive-In has been serving the people of Middle Tennessee for over 15 years by showing all of our favorite movies and serving up the best popcorn, burgers, and sandwiches that you’ve ever had at the theater. The Stardust Drive-In is in the town of Watertown, just a few short miles outside of Nashville. It's the perfect spot to get out of town and enjoy some of the country.
The Stardust first opened in 2003, and it has quickly become one of Middle Tennessee's favorite warm-weather spots. They have two screens and show four showings a night.
Since they have to wait for it to get dark before they can show the movie, there's no set times for movies. They advertise that they start at "dusk," but you should definitely get there early, especially if it's a nice day.
The Stardust is a great way to enjoy a movie if you're on a budget. Tickets are $8.50 per adult, and the concessions are both cheaper and more expansive in their selection than at most other theaters.
The theater runs from the first weekend in March all the way through the end of November. They only run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the school year, but after Memorial Day until mid-August, they show movies every night of the week!
By the way - when we say to get there early, we don't mean 15 minutes -- we mean 30-60 minutes early. You'll be able to get concessions and hang out once you get in, but if you show up too late, it's very possible that the lot will be full.
