11 Questions You Need To Know The Answers To Before Moving To Tennessee
In the last couple of years, the number of folks who have moved to Tennessee has skyrocketed, to the excitement of some and the chagrin of others (those real estate prices!). Since our state has managed to become one of the best spots for newbies in the nation – not that we’re super surprised – we decided to put together a few questions you should ask before putting your house on the market. This is the ultimate test, folks.
11. Are you ready for the humidity?
Summer can get a bit rough, so make sure you're ready to experience something new.
10. Do you know how to drive in the snow…?

9. We have no state income tax - can you deal with that?
Shouldn't be too hard.
8. Are your kids planning on attending college?
Our community college is currently free for students who graduate from a Tennessee high school, and there's opportunity for qualifiable expansion in the future.
7. Do you want a job?
Tennessee has experienced a solid influx in job opportunities over the last couple of years, with a huge emphasis on Nashville and Memphis.
6. Are you an artist?
Whether you're a writer or a musician, plenty of artists have made their way in the Volunteer State.
5. You should really ask yourself - do I LOVE bbq?
Because it's pretty much a religion out here and you may have a tough time if you cross state lines without a true affection for this southern delicacy.
4. Do I love all four seasons?
Tennessee boasts a pretty amazing handful of seasons, and we think they're completely stunning. Whether you love autumn colors or springtime flowers, Tennessee has 'em.
3. Can I deal with traffic?
Especially in Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis (love you, Chattanooga!), you may find yourself in some bumper-to-bumper traffic. It's not all wide open spaces, but if you're looking to drive fast and hard you may want to stick to the country.

Tennessee is steeped in history, and our glut of historic tours and museums make for a beautiful experience.
