This Wine-Themed Train In Nashville Will Give You The Ride Of A Lifetime
The DelMonaco Winery is a beautiful space to visit on your own, but what if you could visit by train…? Traveling by train is one of the most romantic forms of transportation, and Tennessee has managed to elevate the experience with the Tennessee Central Railway, leaving from downtown Nashville and heading out towards Cookeville, leaving you at DelMonaco Winery. Care for an adventure?

Trips to the DelMonaco Winery, located near Cookeville, are operated by the Tennessee Central Railway Museum. The trains leave from their location off of Hermitage Avenue, just outside of the downtown area.

Price for the excursion varies based on what kind of seat you want on the train. Seats in the standard "First Class" cars start at $65 per person, but seats in the glass-domed section of the Dome Car cost as much as $150 per ticket. We highly recommend the dome seats for any tours in the fall when you can take in all of the changing colors along the route.

The trip is ten hours long, including time for the stop at the winery. Along the way, you will make your way through picturesque small towns as well as the gorgeous Tennessee countryside.

Of course, the pinnacle of the trip is the time spent at the DelMonaco winery itself. The winery offers tours, lunch, and live music as well as the opportunity to buy any of the wines that you tried on the train on the way there.

With 18 acres of grape vines, the DelMonaco winery really does make a wine for every palate. The vines also make for the perfect scenery as you enjoy one (or a few) of those wines from one of their many outdoor patios.

Trips to DelMonaco take place every few months, but not at a regular interval, so be sure to watch the website for more information about future trips.

The Tennessee Central Railway offers other excursions as well! From Thomas the Tank Engine rides for kids to Murder Mystery excursions to Watertown, there's a train excursion experience for everyone. Check out their website for upcoming trips.
