7. Visit two presidential homes within forty-five minutes
You can go to the Hermitage for Andrew Jackson's old stomping grounds, or head down to Columbia to visit Polk's. Interesting fact? The latter is buried on Capitol Hill in downtown Nashville.
6. Tour a chocolate factory
Olive & Sinclair is a local chocolate factory located in East Nashville. They proffer quite a few delicious treats that are sold from grocery stores to upscale boutiques, and at $5 a pop, taking a hipster Willy Wonka-eque tour is more than worth it.
5. Take a quirky city tour
Funny, quirky and definitely full of fun, the Nash Trash tour is one of the longest running and most enjoyable tours in the city. So fun that even a local will love it! This ain't just for tourists, folks.
4. Visit a…bathroom?
Known as the most beautiful bathroom in the United States, the men's bathroom at the Hermitage Hotel is so gorgeous that even women are allowed to come ogle the design.
3. Take a drive down the Natchez-Trace
Located just a handful of minutes from Nashville, the Natchez-Trace proffers close to 400 miles of roadway, all the way down through Mississippi. Grab your favorite mixtape (cd? playlist?) and a great coffee for a couple hours of self-reflection.
2. Visit one of the oldest working letterpresses - in the US
With an illustrious (ha) history stretching all the way back to 1879, the renowned Hatch Show Print both designs and prints between 500-600 posters a YEAR. That's crazy.
1. Take in a European inspired brunch
You may think of hefty biscuits and gravy and grits when it comes to the south, but Nashville has a neat gem in Marche Artisan Foods. If you're looking for the refined crisp of a croissant or tartine, this is your spot.
