Nashville has new restaurants and hotels that seem to pop up every day. And as we all know, as soon as they open, they’re posted all over social media. Remember the good old days when there were still spots in Nashville that you just had to stumble upon in order to know about? Well, we hate to ruin the thrill of the chase for you guys, but we found a few of those places and decided to let you know about them in case you just want to cut to visiting them for yourselves. And we’ve got to admit — some of these spots are a little weird.
On the corner of 12th Ave S and Edgehill Ave, if you're looking carefully, you'll find the statues of two polar bears throwing snowballs at each other. No context - just polar bears.
Located at the south end of Neely's Bend, Peeler Park is the least busy but most beautiful park in Nashville. It has miles of paved trails and even a remote control airplane strip!
Riverside Grillshack is pretty easy to miss - especially if you find yourself deep in to East Nashville and you happen to blink at the right time. But their burgers and fries are absolutely killer, and you need to make a visit.
Headquarters is right on Charlotte Ave in the Sylvan Park area, and it's another spot that you can miss if you blink. The coffee is great, and though it's small, you'll love its character.
We know - it's weird that there's a bathroom on this list, but this isn't just any bathroom. The men's room at the Hermitage Hotel has been named best bathroom in America for its stunning (and crazy) art deco finishes.
That's right, there's a catfish restaurant in the Opry Mills area that has a pond full of catfish right in the middle of the restaurant. The meal at Caney Fork is worth it just for the fish watching.
We bet you didn't even know there was a Couchville Lake in Nashville. It's a small lake in Long Hunter State Park that has a 2 mile trail that circles the whole lake! Plus this covered pier that's perfect for fishing.
