The Most Terrifying Ghost Story To Ever Come Out Of Nashville Is Truly Chilling
Union Station Hotel is known as one of the most beautiful places to stay in the city, as well as one of the most haunted. The stories that swirl around this renovated train station are enough to make you wonder – and give you a nightmare or two. If you dare, read on…
Here's the thing: we would never discourage you from visiting the Union Station Hotel. It's gorgeous, historic, and filled with stories for the ages. We also love the spooky stuff about it - no harm, no foul.
The most famous tale that hails from the hotel is that of a young woman, who sends her soldier off to war during World War II, from the train platform.
You can still wander the very platform where her life ended. Yes, you read that right. When she returned to the platform to await his return, she was informed that he had died in battle, and she threw herself from the safety of the platform to the tracks, resulting in her death.
There are some folks that state they see her ghost wandering, some even report her throwing herself onto the train tracks. Still others speak of seeing a stately young soldier, searching for his bride in the afterlife. Two lovers, forever separated.
Some say the clock tower is haunted by the man who tended it for so many years. Still, others say there's another woman, different from our young lover on the tracks, that threw herself down the stairs in a fit of emotional agony. Her spirit falls now, over and over, as she relives her last moments in the afterlife.
Though no famous former guests are said to make an appearance (sorry, Capone fans), Room 711 is said to be wildly haunted. They don't take specific room reservations, but you can always try upon arrival.
A bit strange, eh? We’d still stay there in a heartbeat, because HELLO it’s gorgeous. And who knows? Maybe we’d finally see a ghost…
