This Charming Nashville Restaurant Serves Up Some Of The Best Comfort Food On The Planet
Gray & Dudley is located in downtown Nashville, a newly opened restaurant space that began to serve the ever-ravenous public this past spring. Over the last couple of months, their stylistic take on comfort food and the art industry has created quite the pairing. Inspired menu items have a West Coast influence and play the middle ground between the old and new, with market-driven ingredients and an ever eclectic presentation method.
The restaurant is bursting with contemporary artwork, with an adjacent gallery just off the entrance. We'd recommend enjoying your meal, then burning off a few calories while you browse. Expand your mind and your waistline, Nashville.
The restaurant is located in the old Gray & Dudley Hardware Company, and the owners of taken its heritage in stride. You'll see beautiful works of art throughout the restaurant, contemporary art bound tight to an old-school decor scheme.
Their GD Burger (pictured) is served during lunch, and consists of a delicious patty, charred onion a special sauce and pickles, as well as American cheese. Not a cheese person? No worries. This kind of decadent burger can stand on its own. If you're looking to visit for dinner, you may want to try out the thin cut pork chops or the Bayou La Batre Shrimp.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert are offered at their normal times throughout the day, which means you may want to visit more than once. The restaurant credits their local providers on each menu, which gives them a point in our book. It's always neat, to see Nashville looking to return to its roots and foster local economy.
That right there? Is the El Jefe. It's two eggs served with a tortilla, salsa, queso fresco and black beans. In a skillet. Our mouths are watering about now, but you can also indulge in the Banker's Breakfast, which is two eggs, bacon and sausage, toast and skillet potatoes. Classic, traditional, delicious.
You can visit Gray & Dudley at 221 2nd Ave in Nashville, Tennessee. They offer complimentary valet parking as well, so you don't have to worry about parking in downtown. Visit for any of your three main meals, or come after you hit the bar - their bar food is served until midnight. Happy indulging!
