7. Mammoth Cave National Park
Did you know that the longest cave system in the world is just an hour and a half outside of Nashville? It's true, there are over 400 miles of cave to explore, so you'll definitely need to set aside the long weekend for this one.
6. Land Between The Lakes
This spot is appropriately named, as it's between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake on the Tennessee-Kentucky border. It's a National Recreation Area, making it the perfect spot to get out, relax, and enjoy nature.
Sewanee may be small, but there's a surprising amount to do here! Visit the beautiful college campus, the historic cemeteries, and hike the stunning trails on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau.

Located just an hour and a half east of Nashville, Center Hill Lake is perfect for those who want to get away or for those who want to get out and explore. With multiple State Parks in the area, it's perfect for folks who love hiking.
3. Marshall Space Flight Center
This NASA facility near Nuntsville, Allabama is actually where the Saturn rockets that launched the Apollo missions to the moon were developed. You can visit for yourself and explore the history and science of everything (well, not everything) NASA does at the facility.
Knoxville is one of the most underrated cities in the country. Between the history and the beauty, you could easily spend a whole week here and never get bored.
