It seems like every day there’s a new food craze. Cronuts! Decadent milkshakes! Bacon wrapped bbq! Sure, they’re all exciting and new and fun to experience once in a while, but every so often it’s calming and good to go back to the classics. Hot dogs. The meal of our childhoods, the taste of summertime. In Nashville, Tennessee, I Dream of Weenie serves up a hint of nostalgia with a twist out of their one-of-a-kind location.
I Dream of Weenie is Nashville's iconic hot dog stand, the kind of place that's not only highly shareable on social media but leaves you full and happy after a meal.
Located in a renovated VW bus, the hot dog stand has picnic area seating and a few spare chairs for relaxing as well. The casual, laid-back atmosphere is not only great for summertime snacking, but a quick hot dog to-go to get you through the chill of wintertime.
You can choose between a veggie, turkey or beef weenie, with bratwurst sausages available for an extra $1. Whether you're opting for a Windy City Weenie (pictured) or the Flamin' Frank, stuffed with mustard, chili, hot salsa, jalapenos, cheese and red onions, you're going to leave stuffed to the gills.
I Dream of Weenie does a great job giving a nod to its southern origins, as well. If you're looking for a hotdog buried in a deluge of hashbrown casserole, look no longer. It's here. We're also a bit obsessed with the mac and cheese weenie...but who wouldn't be? Hot dogs and mac 'n cheese, there's nothing more down-home American than that.
