The Tiny Shop In Nashville That Serves Homemade Ice Cream To Die For
Mike’s Ice Cream and Coffee Bar has been located in the downtown Nashville area for a hot second now, but it has just recently moved to a new location on 2nd Avenue. Still close, but just a quick step off of the beaten path. The locally owned and widely loved spot has made its mark on Nashville, building out a following of ice cream lovers for miles.
As of September, moved from their 13-year home on Broadway to a new location right around the corner at 129 2nd Ave N, still in the heart of downtown Nashville.
Possibly the best part? Their hours. Mike's is open 8am to 11pm every day except Fridays and Saturdays, when they stay open until midnight.
Mike's doesn't just serve ice cream. They also scoop up soft-serve yogurt, sundaes, shakes, malts, and old-fashioned fountain sodas. Or if you'd like a shot of espresso to pour over your ice cream, they've got that too.
This special flavor was only available for a limited time, but you want to guess the flavor? Cake soup! It's six types of cake all rolled up into one positively decadent dessert.
If you're looking for suggestions -- we recommend the red velvet (tastes exactly like red velvet), the Tennessee Fudge (for the chocolate lover), or the Banana Pudding (for a Southern twist on ice cream).
Local tip: Want some of Mike's ice cream but don't want to fight the downtown traffic? Mike also sells his famous ice cream at Sip Café, his East Nashville coffee shop.
Still not convinced Mike's is the greatest ever? Don't just take our word for it. Mike's has been featured by both People Magazine and Rachel Ray as premier ice cream in Nashville. With this fun team, we aren't even close to surprised.
This is a shot from the old location on Broadway, so make sure you have the right address! Same delicious ice cream, a bit of a different view. But hey - who wants to look out on Broadway, anyway? Mike's even caters. That's right - you can have your own handmade ice cream at your next party or event. Make sure to call ahead of time to plan the party of the century.
