The Park at Harlinsdale Farm is considered one of the most significant historic farms in the state of Tennessee, especially for its association with the Tennesse Walking Horse Industry. WW Harlin established the working farm in 1933, in direct response to the localized industry.

The centerpiece of the property is most likely the famed horse stable, completed in 1935. It housed the famed "Midnight Sun," the farm's prize horse. Midnight Sun was a Tennessee Walking Horse champion that won two world championships in 1945 and 1946.

Even now, quite a few of Tennessee's current walking stallions can trace their lineage back to Midnight Sun.

The Harlinsdale family resided on the property until the city of Franklin bought it for $8 million in 2004. Nowadays, Harlinsdale Farm operates as a public park that hosts horse shows throughout the year.

If you visit, you'll find 200-acres of farmland, a dog park, a catch-and-release fishing pond, as well as a 5k track and equestrian trail. Parking is free for all park patrons.

It can get quite popular to visit during the warmer months! Keep an eye out for local events and experiences hosted by the Harlinsdale Farm as well.

Harlinsdale Farm is open for "passive activities," which include walking and picnicking. This is where you come for a quiet, good time. Where your leisurely Saturday can be spent throwing a frisbee or tossing a ball, where you can spend sweet time with your family on historic ground. That, friends, is the beauty of Tennessee.
