It’s Not Hard To Fall In Love With Nashville’s Newest Hidden Bar
Nashville has seen quite a surge in its craft cocktail scene recently, and this hidden bar in South Nashville is stepping up the game. Hemingway’s Bar & Hideaway is the perfect blend of excellent food and superb libations with a touch of good, old-fashioned literary class. Trust us — you’re sure to fall in love with this bar and restaurant as soon as you walk in the door.
Hemingway's officially opened for business in late May. Located in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Wedgewood Houston, this bar is everything you've always wanted.
The décor features simple wooden furniture, with trendy glass bulb chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The vibe is like being on an old wooden ship (a la The Old Man and The Sea?).
The new spot is open from 11 am to 2 am daily and features a lunch, dinner, and full bar menu. Be sure to try one of their specialty cocktails like the Steve McQueen, a bourbon cocktail with a cinnamon finish.
There are a few more unique things about their cocktail menu, like the Hemingway Daiquiri, which features Papa Pilar rum (named after Hemingway's boat, of course). Also, the menu itself describes the drinks in a few sentences each because Hemingway would want you to be reading, obviously.
The owners of the bar wanted a menu to reflect the diverse cuisines that Hemingway would have encountered in his travels. The Korean Fried Chicken is absolutely to die for. We're not sure where Hemingway would have ran across this delicacy, but we're not complaining.
Walk-ins are welcomed (and even encouraged), but we recommend making a reservation in advance. You can make reservations at their website.
