It’s October, and that means more folks than ever are looking to find a place to find a fun, creepy scare to get them in the Halloween spirit. We decided to help you out, and figure out which eerie and creepy and crawly places are worth a visit this time of year. The ten places below (and fun articles!) will keep you busy from now until November, so make sure to squeeze in a few creepy adventures!
10. Enjoy the eeriness of the season from
behind your computer screen...
...because sometimes you don't want to wander a haunted wood. You just want a little jump, then the chance to go back to life as normal. Right? Right.
9. Visit the site of the most
devastating train accident in United States history.
Dutchman's Curve is has a horrific reputation, and you can now visit the memorial in McCabe Park if you're looking for a quiet place to learn about the lives lost, and the history made.
8. Have you heard the terrifying story of the
Ade family murders...?
The story is still unsolved, and creates quite a ripple of terror if you bring it up to the locals. What a strange thing it would be, if this cold case was cracked so many years later...?

4. You can still catch a glimpse of the
foreboding Tennessee State Prison.
Located on the west side of town, the castle-like structure has been immortalized in the movie, "The Green Mile" and continues to serve as a filming spot (with express permission!) for professionals.

Located out in Lebanon, the haunted woods may be a bit far out there - but it's way worth the drive. This eerie trail will take you a mile into the woods of Tennessee, the kinds of backwoods that really make you feel creeped out...
2. The story behind
Tennessee's most haunted house is pretty insane. Like, really insane.
The Carnton Plantation is located in Franklin, Tennessee, and it is on the site of one of the deadliest battles in the Civil War. Wander the plantation and take a tour, then learn about the beautiful home that became wildly haunted.

haunted cemetery that will make your blood run cold.
There's nothing calming about wandering through a cemetery...but there IS something interesting about knowing a ghost story and seeking out the location of it. Would you dare...?
