Nashville’s Newest Restaurant Will Transport You To A Spot Down On The Bayou
The culinary roots of Tennessee are firmly entrenched in classic southern fare like biscuits and gravy, grits and fried chicken. It’s a reputation to be proud of, the kind of meal that leaves folks sated, the kind that brings families together over long meals at big tables. Welcoming, fun and delicious. Nashville, however, has been pushing culinary boundaries over the last few years, and its newest edition? Goes to the deep, deep American south, all the way to the Gulf. Nashville is ready for you, Louisiana!
Located in the old Valentino's Ristorante space (pictured), Crab Fever has taken a traditional Italian spot and reworked it to evoke the culinary culture of Spanish moss-laden Louisiana.
The Cajun-style restaurant just opened in Nashville's midtown area, after Valentino's vacated the building for a new location on Hayes Street. The California-based chain has locations in San Diego and Murfreesboro as well as Nashville.
The interior design is quirky and homey, a nod to the fisherfolk of the Gulf. Folks rave about the appetizers, mainly the perfectly crispy calamari and shrimp, but you can't miss the fish tenders. Here in Nashville, the city tends to focus on fried chicken, pizza and classic meat 'n threes, but Crab Fever has infused the culinary community with a bit of Cajun flair.
Crab Fever truly is a unique seafood experience, boasting everything from fried oysters and fries to truffle sliders. Fish tacos are also on the menu, but if you're really looking to vibe with your Louisiana roots, order the boiler specialty (pictured). There are multiple combos that include everything from corn on the cob and potatoes with sausage to King Crab legs and shrimp.
Plus, the neat interior of the restaurant will make you feel like you've left the heart of Tennessee behind.
Folks are already raving about this Cajun eatery, and for good reason. Decadent, delicious and downright fun, Crab Fever is great for folks of all ages.
