10 Events And Festivals Around Nashville That Will Make The Season Magical
Nashville becomes quite the winter wonderland around this time of year, but sometimes you need a solid place to look for events – and this is it. Check out holiday lights and historic festivals and gorgeous tree lightings all around the city, from the north to the south to right smack dab in the middle of downtown. We’re excited for the holiday season here in Music City, and we have ten beautiful reasons why you should be as well. See you in the city!
1. Cheekwood Holiday Lights
The lights at the Cheekwood Estate & Botanical Gardens number at over one million, and this year you can catch the show from November 10th through the end of December, from 5-10pm. Keep in mind, however, that the event is closed on Mondays and tickets oscillate between $18 and $25, depending on age and event.
2. Metro Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
This Nashville classic will take place from 6-7pm on Friday, December 1st, and will occur in Public Square Park downtown. Make sure to bundle up!
3. Gaylord Opryland Holiday Lights
This free and stunning annual holiday light display is open straight through until January 5th, and it's perfect for little ones and adults alike. There are more than three million lights!
4. Nashville Christmas Parade
The Nashville Christmas Parade will take place from 9-11am on December 2nd, and you can purchase your own ticket online. Experience fun marching band performances, singing celebrities and HUGE balloons!
5. Bell Buckle Old-Fashioned Christmas
This sweet, small town Christmas celebration will take place every Saturday of the month from 12-4pm in downtown historic Bell Buckle.
6. Check out the special showings at The Franklin Theatre.
We'll be heading to historic downtown Franklin to see classic movies like, "It's a Wonderful Life" throughout the month of December. Make sure to check their online calendar of events, and don't forget to buy your tickets ahead of time!
7. Dickens Christmas
On December 9th and 10th, you can walk through a very Victorian Christmas in historic Franklin. Gorgeous, fun and family friendly, the only difficult part of the day will be finding parking.
8. Christmas on the General Jackson Showboat
Check out the General Jackson Christmas Evening Cruise during the holiday season, and experience stunning choreography and a delicious dinner as you cruise the Cumberland River. Event times and tickets vary, so make sure to purchase early!
9. Christmas on the Square
Lebanon throws a really good party, and on December 9th you can experience all their fun and holiday spirit. The event will run from 2-6pm.
10. Christmas on Main Street
Located in Goodlettsville, on December 2nd you can visit Santa Claus, carol to your hearts content and watch the gorgeous Christmas tree lighting that heralds in the season. The event will occur from 6-8pm.
