You'll Love These Underrated Trails Hiding Just Outside Of Nashville

You’ve probably heard of Radnor Lake (you’ll see a TON of it below) and Percy Priest out here in Nashville, but what about the trails of Brentwood? Located just outside of the Nashville city center, these beautiful parks are home to trails that snake their way through the heart of the city’s most prominent suburb. You will find that there are some addresses associated with the parks below, but if the address is not listed, the park is located at an intersection that’s easily pulled up on your GPS.
With 32 acres available for your use, you can utilize their walking and exercise trails as well as four well-lit tennis courts and a playground for the littles during your time out and about this fall. It's open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., so there's plenty of time for local adventures in-between.
Walking paths and bikeways are the main draw to Concord Park. Located just off of Concord Road, this Brentwood park is perfect for Saturday afternoon kite flying and picnicking.
Open from dawn until dusk on the daily, Owl Creek Park is a neighborhood park that measures in at 21 acres. Enjoy a meal at their picnic shelter or take a nice jog or leisurely stroll along their walking trails.
Primm Park has quite the history to it. Home to the historic Boiling Spring Academy and five mounds constructed by Native American mound builders, circa 1200 AD, a visit is a history lesson for everyone involved. The park is actually designed to emphasize its deep history, and it's not hard to enjoy a walk along the impressive ceremonial mounds.
Another neighborhood park, Wikle Park has a great string of walking and jogging trails as well as a handful of play lawns and a playground. There are also bathrooms available, perfect if you have a little one.
Located not too far from the popular Maryland Farms area of Brentwood, you can run the one-mile paved trail or trek through the close to half mile wooded trail through Margaret Hayes Powell Park. Great for folks with little ones and power walkers alike, you can visit from dawn to dusk.
River Park has a fabulous two-mile bikeway and a stunning walking path along the Little Harpeth River. It actually connects you to the previously mentioned Concord Park, making this beautiful space perfect for a long day spent enjoying the crisp autumn weather.
