This Old-School Nashville Eatery Serves Up The Most Amazing German Food
German food is kind of the unsung hero of ethnic eats, wouldn’t you say? We’re all fans of bratwurst and beer at heart, and there’s a certain joy that comes with the smell of a solid dollop of sauerkraut. This restaurant in the historic Germantown neighborhood brings that joy like no other restaurant in town. Grab a stein, your lederhosen, and head down today.

Von Elrod's recently opened on the North side of Nashville, just on the edge of the famous Germantown neighborhood. Which is, you know, pretty appropriate.

They have plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, all designed to bring people together around the same table and enjoy the food and drink in true German fashion.

The menu centers around sausage and bratwurst. Whether you want a traditional pork bratwurst or a more unconventional Thai chicken sausage, you'll be able to find something you like. They even have vegan sausage!

What would a trip to a Bavarian restaurant be without Bavarian pretzels? We definitely recommend that you get some on your visit — they are to die for!

Von Elrod's is just as known for their beer as they are for their food. They have 36 taps in rotation, focusing on American, German, and Belgian brews.

When you visit Von Elrod's you'll notice that this isn't just your normal beer garden. While they incorporated traditional beer garden elements, Von Elrod's has done an incredible job of introducing modern and updated elements, making the space warm and inviting for all.

Von Elrod's is located at 1004 4th Avenue North, and is open at 11 a.m. every day, with closing hours of 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
