The Epic Outdoor Food Fest In Tennessee You Simply Cannot Miss
The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is coming up here in Memphis, and we figured you’d like a peek into one of the most fun and amazing food festivals in the state. You do?! Oh, perfect. Mark your calendars, ready your bellies, and fill up the car because we’re headin’ on out to Memphis, y’all!
The Memphis World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is located at Tom Lee Park, along the Mississippi River. The 30-acre park skirts downtown Memphis, making it easily accessible no matter what side of town you frequent.
This renowned competition brings in bbq slingers from one side of the state to the other. It does limit how you find your cheat day meat dishes while in the festival, but seeing the winners celebrate is more than worth it. BBQ lovers can enter into categories like, "The Whole Pig" or "Exotic". We can only imagine how creative folks have to get...
The festival is open to folks of all ages, even kids. All little ones under six are able to get in for free, but there is no admission age differentiation once your brood hits seven. Everyone pays the same price!
You can choose from a four-day pass, a single-day ticket, VIP access or the Kingsford Tour of Champions. You can buy them now - and you'll want to hurry. This is the most prestigious bbq competition in the United States.
And of course it is - look how much fun everyone is having! Can we go now...?
The festival will be held no matter the weather, so keep that in mind when you purchase your tickets. Rain or shine, the show goes on.
The event lasts from Wednesday, May 17th to Saturday, May 20th. That's coming up, folks! Snag your tickets (they range from $5 to $35, normally) and take a day off of work. This is the best way to begin your summer!
How fun! Have you gone before? Share your experiences below!
