This Homey Coffee Shop Is A Hidden Gem Of The Tennessee Mountains
East Tennessee is known for the Smokies. The mountains are a huge draw — and for good reason. But Johnson City in Northeast Tennessee has a new coffee shop that is worth a detour, if not an entire dedicated trip. With some of the best vibes, coffee, and food around, Open Doors will make you want to settle in with a good book and never leave….

Open Doors Coffeehouse is relatively new to Johnson City, but it's already gained a reputation as one of the best in East Tennessee.

Like your coffee in a French Press? They'll make it. Are you a coffee snob that demands your coffee be poured over a V60? Well they have that, too. If they weren't accommodating, they wouldn't be called "Open Doors" now, would they?

It doesn't just stop at coffee, folks. They also have a full breakfast and lunch menu, featuring biscuits, sandwiches, and eggs, but the real star of the menu is the cast iron Belgian waffles.

Okay, one last thing about the coffee. All of their roasts come from Crimson Cup, which was awarded the 2016 Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine, so you're getting the best the country has to offer.

Open Doors strives to not only make good things but to also do good things. Their mission revolves around making the finest quality drinks while providing a space that is inviting and evokes a sense of community.

On top of all of that, they also donate most of their profits to a local non-profit called Rise Up! So you can feel good about eating this sausage biscuit (as if you weren't going to feel AMAZING about it already).

Need coffee on the go? No problem. They have a drive-thru. Now, do you see why this is literally the perfect coffee shop?

Open Doors is open every day (appropriately) until 8 p.m. with the doors opening at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends. You can find them at 101 E. 8th Ave.
