We have a list of places perfect for those or are looking for something free or for the frugal. It’s hard to find a fun, new place to go without whipping out your wallet, and the nation has turned its eye towards our great state in recent years. The influx of tourists make for an uptick in prices, and that means we all have to get creative. Good thing you know who to ask – us. And we have ten great places around our lovely cities that are bound to give, “date night” a whole new meaning. Let’s go, shall we?
10 . Memphis has free admission to The National Ornamental Metal Museum Grounds.
You can learn about the history of metalsmiths and metalwork at the Metal Museum. Only the nerdy and smart and future rulers of the world may apply! Keep your eye out for free museum days in the city as well. Whether you're planning on becoming a metalsmith or not, this is a fun way to get yourselves talking about something new.
9. Ijams Nature Center is a fun date spot!
There are over 300-acres of protected, forested area at Ijams Nature Center. You can enjoy a picnic at one of their picnicing areas, or you can enjoy the sights at one of their beautiful lookout points.
8. A walk down Chattanooga's Walnut Street Bridge is fabulous.
This beautiful bridge is one of our favorite walks in the city. Follow it up with a jaunt down the Chattanooga Riverwalk and you're all set - add an ice cream cone, too. If you can!
7. Head up to Clingmans Dome - it's the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park!
The hike up to the top is free and steep, running at just about a half mile. As long as you don't mind panting your way up the hill, the pay off is killer.
6. Wandering Knoxville's Old City is a great way to spend the afternoon.
The beautiful architecture and history of Knoxville's Old City really does set this beautiful space apart. It's great for walking and wandering, and there are even a couple of coffee shops that serve up a quick cup of joe alongside your under $10 date.
5. Visit Her Bookshop in East Nashville and wander among the pretty tomes.

4. World's Fair Park is one of the prettiest places in Knoxville.
There's a reason everyone hangs out here - it's beautiful and free and a great conversation starter.
3. There's nothing like a spin around the Shelby Farms Greenline.
The Shelby Farms Greenline is one of our favorite places in Memphis, whether we're dating or single as all get out. Walk the trails or traverse one of its bridges, maybe you can even sneak in a hand hold at some point. Maybe?
2. Take a walk around Nashville's Radnor Lake.
Radnor is the perfect loop about fifteen minutes from the city center. At just a couple of miles, you can walk this twice for free whether the date is going well or absolutely terrible. There's an out, so it's a safe bet.
1. Visit this beautiful Sculpture Fields at Montague Park in Chattanooga.
The Sculpture Fields opened in 2016 and have proven to be a beautiful exhumation of art in the Chattanooga area. The stunning fields have given us an elevated sense of tactile art and help children understand its true depth. Art lovers? We have your date night all set.
