McEwen, Tennessee is located roughly an hour west of Nashville, and it's a leafy getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lush with greenery and naturally beautiful, the city also plays host to the Wee Nook, a hobbit-themed Airbnb.
Advertised as a "tiny house," the 360-square foot space is beautifully designed and perfect for 2 guests. The home is tucked beneath the ground, and the listing highlights Tolkien's own words, "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."
The intimate space has a perfect kitchen for cooking in the home. There's also a garden, orchard, and fresh chicken eggs available for use on a seasonal basis.
The property boasts all sorts of hiking trails and even a pond for swimming and fishing. The outdoor pavilion is perfect for coffee-sipping and porch-sitting come the evening.
Located just a stone's throw from Loretta Lynn's Ranch and the darling small town of Dickson, the Wee Nook boasts the perfect mix of city-proximity and rural isolation. If you're looking to reserve the space for yourself, reservations at the time of publication begin at $100 a night.
