But as it often happens, the past sometimes comes with dark and haunted memories, and there’s one spot just outside Chattanooga that knows this very well. In a town that’s known for their International Cornbread Festival, there’s a hospital that has been abandoned for twenty years. That is, it’s abandoned by everyone except for the spirits that call it home.
In South Pittsburgh, just outside of Chattanooga, there's an old abandoned hospital, and it's completely haunted.
Tour companies from all over the country take excursions to the Old South Pittsburgh Hospital because of its reputation as one of the most haunted places in the country.

The hospital closed in 1998 but is reportedly haunted by all of the people that died in its halls, some of whom died suspiciously.

The plantation burned to the ground in the night in the early 1920s, and seven children were killed in the fire. Many of the ghostly experiences that people report today are of children playing in the empty halls of the hospital.
There are also many stories of a shadowy and very tall figure who haunts the third floor. It's said that it's the spirit of a surgeon who used to work in the hospital and may have performed experiments on some patients.
