Visit This Fascinating Farm In Tennessee That Has The Strangest Collection Of Animals Around
Exotic animals and Tennessee…they aren’t two subjects that normally go hand in hand. It would take a bit of a miracle to find a zebra in the American south, or even perhaps those ever-magical reindeer of Christmas lore, don’t you think? Well, if so, then the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo is the stuff of legends. This is a local secret you’ll never want to leave…
The Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo is located in Sevierville, Tennessee, not too far from the tourist-favorite Pigeon Forge.
The quirky barnyard is located on 140 acres of Tennessee foothills land and it offers an up close and personal experience with some of the most beautiful and unknown creatures here in the south.
Kids are huge fans of the horses on-site, especially since the old-fashioned pony ride offered for little ones makes for a gentle introduction to the art of horseback riding.
It's not just horses and deer on the farm, though. You'll have a great time visiting the miniature horses, Rocky Mountain elk, emus, kangaroos, zebras, and camels on-site.
The zonkies are our favorite, thought! A cross between zebras and donkeys, they're some of the most incredible animals on the farm. It's a great way to introduce your little ones not only to the beauty of the natural world, but the art of the scientific realm.
Have you ever pet a reindeer before? This is your chance!
The petting zoo itself is open from 10am to 5:30pm, seven days a week and year 'round except for Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Feed cups are available for purchase, so you and your littles can truly indulge in the complete experience.
This is the kind of experience that makes life-long memories.
You can also choose to book a pony ride or a trek from the riding stables, with at 60 minute horseback riding experiencing costing $25.99 and a low-key pony ride a simple $7.99.
If you're looking to visit the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo for yourself, make sure to check it out at 478 Happy Hollow Lane in Sevierville, Tennessee.
