The Lost Sea is the second largest underground lake in the world, and it's hiding in the hills of East Tennessee. You can take a glass-bottomed boat across the lake, which is absolutely magical.

Cummins Falls is located just outside of Cookeville and can be viewed either from the overlook at the parking lot above the falls or by hiking down in to the gorge. It's a short but steep hike, so it might not be ideal for small kiddos, but there's so much else to do at the state park, it's absolutely worth the trip.

Located in Sevierville, in the foothills of the Smokies, Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park offers all kinds of adrenaline-fueled activities like zip-lining and walking across America's longest swinging bridge.

It might look super weird, but this unique adventure park in East Tennessee is tons of fun for the whole family. Climb in to one of the park's giant inflatable "zorbs" and roll down the grassy hill for a ride you won't forget.

The Ocoee River is absolutely stunning any time of year, but it's also the perfect adventure for the whole family. If you're a super-adrenaline junkie, the Upper Ocoee was the site of the Olympic Whitewater course for the 1996 Summer Olympics, so it's pretty intense.

Reelfoot Lake is the only naturally occurring lake in Tennessee (even though it was formed by an earthquake), so it's truly unlike any other spot in the state. Rent a boat and troll the waters, looking for eagles, deer, and all kinds of wildlife.

Tennessee's favorite amusement park, Dollywood has everything you want, from thrilling roller coasters to all kinds of family-friendly shows. Plus, if you're lucky, you might just even run in to Dolly herself.
If you’re looking for more adventures, your family will definitely love this stairway waterfall hidden in the hills of Tennessee.
