The trail winds just over 9 miles from Tracy City to the base of Foster Falls, and it follows the Fiery Gizzard Creek for some time, which is where the name comes from.

The trail is known for its natural beauty, including the natural rock formations and ancient sycamore trees along the trail. In fact, for these reasons, Fiery Gizzard was ranked in the top 25 trails in America by Backpaker Magazine.

As you near Foster Falls, there's even a suspension bridge that crosses Foster Creek to get to the base of the falls.
