There’s one haunted house in East Tennessee, though, that is taking their scare factor to a whole new level, and it’s absolutely terrifying to even think about. No spoilers on what it is that makes this haunted house so special, but let’s just say that you’ll feel a little more than scared…

Dead Man's Farm in Lenoir City is one of the most popular in the state, if not in the entire Southeast. The more we learn about it, the more we understand why.

The Farm was first opened as a haunted house in October of 2009, but its roots go back further. According to local lore, the farm was once occupied by a family that practiced black magic, causing the grounds to be actually haunted.

For a small surcharge, guests can opt-in to a "hands-on" experience called "Dare to be Touched." Yes. You pay money for the actors to actually be able to touch you, which takes the terror of this haunted house to an entirely new level.

Think about it. This clown coming after you and actually being able to put his hands on you?! How may ways can you say "NOPE." But if you're looking for the extra thrill, reviews of this experience all rave about the added scare factor.

Dead Man's Farm is open on weekends from the end of September through Halloween. Non-touch tickets are $20 per person, and the touch option is $5 extra. You can even upgrade your ticket for $10 to get in the fast pass lane! Check them out in Lenoir City at 9567 Hwy 11E.
