The Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium is home to some of the best hiking in the state, not to mention the state-of-the art planetarium and a nature center that features the park’s own wolf pack. A whole day at this park just might not be enough to do everything it has to offer, but you’ll just have to see for yourself.
Bays Mountain Park is located just outside of Kinsport, about an hour and a half drive northeast from Knoxville. It's location tucked up in to the corner of Tennessee makes this the true definition of a hidden gem.
The park includes a 44-acre lake, hiking trails, animal habitats, and a state-of-the-art planetarium. There's truly something for everyone at this park!

The park is just as beautiful and awe-inspiring in the wintertime as it is during the warmer months.
One of the coolest things about the park is their wolf habitat at the nature center. They often have programming that teaches visitors all about the wolves. The planetarium is also a big draw for folks visiting the park. They offer multiple shows per day, all for $5 per person. Tickets must be purchased at the park's gift shop.
A hike to the fire tower on the property affords a pretty incredible view of the valley beneath.
