The Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge is remarkably underrated. From the hiking trails and nature to the restaurants and breweries, there's quite a bit to discover along Highway 14. And you can take in views of the beautiful river from your front door when you stay at the Columbia Gorge Riverside Lodge, a small collection of cozy cabins in Washington that sit near the water's edge.
The Columbia Gorge Riverside Lodge is the only low bank, edge-of-the-river lodging you'll find on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge.
It's located in the small town of Stevenson, about 45 minutes east of Vancouver.
The lodge is a collection of eight themed studios inside four rustic but comfortable cabins.
And with names like La Frontera, Northwest Passage, and Calypso, choosing a cabin is no easy task.
The property sits just a stone's throw from the Columbia River, and most of the cabins have excellent views.
No matter what time of year you visit, you'll want to spend plenty of time outside.
The cabins are quiet and romantic, offering you a break from TVs and in-room phones (although you will have WiFi in your room).
Some cabins have private indoor jacuzzis, and the large riverfront La Frontera unit has a large private deck with a hot tub.

The accommodations are somewhat rustic, but they'll have everything you need for a wonderful stay.
This isn't exactly camping, after all.
The cabins all have small kitchenettes for cooking meals, and gas fireplaces to keep you cozy.
This is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, but you can also book several units and plan to host a special occasion here — there's an event room that will comfortably host 50 people.
Rates at the Columbia Gorge Riverside Lodge vary, depending on which cabin you choose.
You can also bring your pets on your vacation with you, although they cost an additional fee.
