If you have never visited Portland's historic Heathman Hotel, this is one great way to start. Offering a Russian Tea Experience, the Heathman shines in charm and style, and you are definitely going to want to check it out. Book a table this holiday season and experience some of the best that tea and treats has to offer.
Built in 1927, the Heathman Hotel is one of the last of the historic hotels in Portland still in operation.
It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Historic Hotels of America.
Known as a place "where service is still an art" the Heathman Hotel is a lovely place to stay and visit.
Exquisitely decorated with over 250 original paintings and works of art, the hotel alone is lovely to walk through.
However, the star today is the Russian Tea Experience offered at the hotel's Headwaters Restaurant.
Remodeled in 2016 and run by Chef Vitaly Paley, the new restaurant continues to carry on the long-standing tradition of serving high tea at the hotel.
This lovely occasion pulls out all the stops to ensure you have an amazing experience.
Working with local tea powerhouse Smith Teamaker, the teas served include custom blends and perennial favorites.
Paying homage to his own heritage, chef Paley brings a Russian flare to the tea, drawing on foods passed down to him by his grandmother.
From piroshki to halva to blini, this amazing offering of food is simply mouthwatering.
Choose from teas such as Darjeeling, peppermint, sencha, or bergamot to create an experience suited to your tastes.
For an additional fee, you can also add cocktails or champagne to your service.
This special event takes place daily, but reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance.
Seatings take place at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm throughout the season.
This is a lovely way to catch up with old friends or simply do something special with your family.
The memory of this amazing tea will definitely last a lifetime.
If you are thinking of a special way to celebrate this year, consider booking a spot for high tea.
This fun tradition will not disappoint you.
