As any outdoor lover knows, the fun doesn't have to stop when the temperatures dip, or at any point during the year. From hikes through the Whites to simple trail walks in your own backyard, some might argue that things just start getting good once even winter hits in the Granite State. One of the most common misconceptions is that camping needs to end after the summer, but those who prefer sleeping under the stars will love that there are some scenic places in New Hampshire that allow camping year-round. If that's you, check these out - no matter what time of year it might be.
1. Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, Freedom
Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort is perfectly located between the Lakes Region and the White Mountains. They offer 300 sites across their 185 acres, making this perfect for people who love to spread out.
2. Blackberry Mountain Campground, Conway
Located in the beautiful White Mountain National Forest, Blackberry Mountain Campground is great if you love your winter camping to be basic. Once the colder temps hit, things get primitive but you can't beat the scenery at any time of year. It's located along the Kancamagus Highway.
3. Apple Hill Campground, Bethlehem
This family-run campground in the White Mountains offers access to all of the best four-season activities. In the winter bring your skis and snowshoes along with your snowmobile!
4. Lafayette Place Campground, Lincoln
These 97 sites nestled in the heart of Franconia Notch State Park all have lots of room and come with access to some of the best outdoors in the state. Expect primitive access between October and May, but you're an outdoorsy person - you don't need luxury, right? Find it at Franconia Notch State Park.
5. Ramblewood Cabins and Campground, Pittsburg
Located on 180 wooded acres in Pittsburg, Ramblewood Cabins and Campground offers cabins and campground on the water. It all started nearly 30 years ago with just one cabin and today there are 30 campsites and 8 cabins.
6. Meredith Woods Four Season Camping Area, Meredith
Located right in the heart of the Lakes Region, this spot has perfected the art of winter camping. They've been doing it since 1991! Come see why the Meredith Woods Four Season Camping Area is easily one of our state's best.
7. Crazy Horse Family Campground, Littleton
This four-season campground known as Crazy Horse Family Campground offers access to 100 acres of beautiful forest, as well as 12 miles of waterways. In the winter, guests have access to all of the state's snowmobile trails.
8. Hancock Campground, White Mountain National Forest
One of the most beautiful spots for easy car camping, you might want to plan your drive from one point to another with this sleeping stop in mind. The 56 sites at Hancock Campground are near the water, which makes this place extra beautiful in the winter and full of activities in the summer. They're located just off the Kancamagus Highway in Lincoln.
