Experience The ‘Old West’ At One Of Colorado’s Oldest Hotels

If you're looking for an "Old West" experience, then you're going to love visiting and staying at The Western Hotel and Spa in Ouray, Colorado. This hotel first opened in 1891 and it has had many ups and downs over the years. Most recently, it was completely renovated between 2020 and 2023. It's back open now, and it's an incredible experience. We know you are going to love everything about this hotel, and Ouray is a wonderful place for a getaway. Read on to learn more about this special accommodation.

The Western Hotel & Spa is an icon in Ouray. It only recently reopened, but it's been an institution in this small mountain town for close to 200 years.

Today, The Western offers 16 well-appointed suites, plus attractive indoor and outdoor common spaces, a general store, an Old West saloon, and a restaurant.

The spa is currently underway as of November 2023, and will be open soon.

It feels like The Western has always been in Ouray, though. It kind of has. Prospectors first arrived in Ouray in 1875. The town was incorporated in 1884.
