Everyone can appreciate a hilarious headline now and then, and we found some of Minnesota's craziest! These stories may not have made the front page, but we sure think they're shocking enough to stick in your memory for a while. Did you hear about when...
1. 1929, Duluth - A local drunk chased a bear with a hammer, eventually leading to a standoff in the Hotel Duluth Coffee Shop between the bear and Sergeant Eli Le Beau.
2. 2012, Lester Prairie - Gary Constans had his license revoked for driving too slowly on 2-lane highways. In his defense, it saved him a lot of gas money.
3. 2014, Red Wing - A Minnesota trash hauler allegedly dumped out nearly 2 tons of trash on a customer's driveway because they had not paid for the roll-off in which the trash had been sitting.
4. 2010, St. Paul - Kare11 led the largest gathering of men with mustaches (1,131, to be exact).
5. 2008, All of Minnesota - Dozens of local bars skirt the no-smoking laws by holding theater nights, in which all customers were actors, and the bar a theater. This allowed for use of the loophole which stated actors were allowed to smoke as part of a production.
6. 2012, Minneapolis - A local man fled the police (and was later captured) wearing nothing but a pair of high heels. Imagine how hard it must've been to run in those.
7. 1944, Minneapolis - The Minnesota Starvation experiment was offered as an alternative to the draft, and 36 men starved themselves for scientific research.
8. 2009, Proctor - An MN man was given a DWI for driving a motorized recliner under the influence.
9. 2012, Dorset - By drawing his name out of a hat, Dorset elected 3-year old Bobby Tufts as mayor.
