This Historic District In Southern California Will Make You Think You’ve Died And Gone To Italy
Southern California is full of hidden surprises, but there’s no place quite like this little gem hiding in a quaint pocket of SoCal that is reminiscent of one of the most romantic cities in Italy. Let’s take a look:

Developed around the same time the automobile grew in popularity, the canals were a short-lived novelty once the desire for paved roads increased. By 1929, many of the canals were filled in and paved in order to accommodate the automobile culture. The remaining canals and sidewalks fell into disrepair for over 40 years.
