We Can’t Stay Away From This 13,000 Square Foot Food Hall In Southern California
When you think of a food court, greasy burgers and soggy fries probably come to mind. This two-story space along Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade was once such a place, but it’s recently transformed into a food hall that boasts delicious, gourmet fare that you’ll want to enjoy over and over again. Take a look!
The next time you take a stroll down Third Street Promenade, pop into The Gallery for a snack or meal.
A $7.5 million renovation gave this place a makeover recently, but it was still lacking the luster to draw crowds. New tenants and new concepts are giving this gorgeous space the attention it deserves now, and you'll want to check it out for yourself. It's located at 1315 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
The Gallery is a food hall that bills itself as a "food collective," which is the perfect way to describe this place.
It's a 13,000 space shared by seven restaurants. You'll find everything from quick takeout to a nice, sit-down restaurant, and every food vendor focuses on fresh, unique dining concepts.
Start your morning off right with a donut and coffee from Sloan's...
...and put the cherry on top of the perfect dining day when you go back for ice cream later!
This tasty treat shop has donuts, cookies, brownies, and an assortment of ice cream that will make your heart sing.
Sumo Dog is a unique fusion of all-American icon and Asian cuisine.
If you've somehow been living under a rock, then you might not have heard about Sumo Dog. These dogs are infused with Asian flair, and you've never tried anything like 'em. Our favorite is the Bacon Banh Mi with bacon, pickled daikon, cucumber, lime, fish sauce, cilantro, jalapeno, and wasabi.
How about these savory street tacos at Azule Taqueria?
Every day is Taco Tuesday as far as we're concerned, and it would take you many Tuesdays to try everything on the menu at Azule Taqueria. Luckily, if you really do visit on Tuesday, the tacos are half off, so you can nosh to your heart's content.
Paperboy Pizza is a slice that's nice.
Paperboy Pizza is one of the latest additions to The Gallery, and it's serving up thin-crust pizza with mouth-watering, high-quality ingredients. Be careful - these slices are downright addictive.
STRFSH offers up fresh seafood in a bun.
When you're starving and you want your food fast, but you also want something that tastes amazing, head to STRFSH. The fish sandwiches are to die for, and the fries are pure perfection. The Voltaggio brothers were featured on Top Chef, where Michael earned the honor of being named Top Chef, and Brian was one of the finalists. You'll see why the moment you sink your teeth into one of these creations.
If you're short on time, grab a bowl or salad at Every Table.
This is fast food that makes you feel good. Not only is every salad, bowl, and wrap made with the freshest, finest ingredients; but the company helps out its community, too. The food that's not used every day is donated to local homeless shelters to provide healthy, delicious meals to members of our community who often suffer from poor nutrition.
Take your delicious meal with you to go, or have a seat here. There's a large communal dining area that features fairy lights above and a large living plant wall as well.
The Gallery also has a fine dining restaurant - Dialogue.
An evening at this beautiful restaurant is an intimate experience. It has just three tables, and eight seats right at the counter where the chefs prepare your meal. Dave Beran is a James Beard award-winning chef that will please your palate with his menu that's specially designed for every season of the year. Dialogue is open evenings from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.
With the exception of Dialogue, the restaurants at The Gallery all open at 11 a.m.. Stop by and see it for yourself!
