What are the best waterfall hikes in Southern California?

Lovers of waterfalls and hiking will be lovers of Southern California by the time they’ve explored some of its most amazing waterfall hikes! There are lots to choose from (see the next point!), but some do tend to stick out to us as particularly amazing for some reason or another. Eaton Canyon Falls, for example, near Pasadena is an amazing waterfall with a scenic hike attached to it; it’s an easy hike, though it is about four miles round-trip, so make sure you’re able to hike it. Seekers of family-friendly waterfall hikes in Southern California will love the hike to Millard Falls, which is less than two miles long round-trip and leads to one of our most amazing waterfalls (we love major payoffs with less work!). If you prefer a challenge, you’ll want to check out the hike to Trail Canyon Falls, which is six miles long and difficult but very much worth the effort. Want more ideas? Check this article out to learn more about these waterfalls and others.

What are some easy-access waterfalls in Southern California?

Interested in amazing waterfalls but not a huge fan of a long, exhausting hike to reach them? No worries – we have you covered! There are plenty of waterfalls that are, as it turns out, pretty easy to get to – you just need to know where to look. Escondido Falls is probably the most extravagant example; it’s remarkably beautiful and requires a short and sweet hike under two miles in length. It’s a maximum reward for minimum effort! Hit Bonita Fall Trail for a one-and-a-half-mile long, breathtaking trek that leads to one of our most amazing waterfalls (though you’ll want to wear good shoes for that one that you don’t mind getting wet). Another must-do is Eaton Canyon Falls, which is accessible by an easy two-mile hike, and, should you visit during the middle of the week, you might just have it entirely to yourself.
