Are you in the mood for a challenge? The Mishe Mokwa trail to Sandstone Peak is exactly what you need. This 6.1 mile hike in the Santa Monica mountains will definitely be a challenge – you’ll climb 1,686 feet in about three and a half hours. Along the way, you’ll enjoy some incredible views of the valley below, and see some cool features, too. Once you reach the top, you’ll definitely feel a real sense of accomplishment. Find the trail head on Yerba Buena road, about one mile past Circle X Ranch.
As always, make sure you come prepared for this hike. Bring plenty of water – much of this hike leaves you exposed in full sunlight, and it can get very hot.
