Got plans for the Fourth of July? Come out to celebrate Southern California’s ultimate summer tradition – the Huntington Beach 4th of July celebration. It was launched in 1904 to commemorate the maiden passage of the first passenger train that linked Los Angeles and Long Beach. Today, it is considered the largest Independence Day celebration west of the Mississippi River.

The Huntington Beach 4th of July celebration is home to the Neighborhood Parade, Surf City 5K Run, Pier Plaza Festival, Fireworks Over the Ocean, and Decorating Contest. You can also join the many festivities hosted throughout downtown Huntington Beach.

The 2021 Neighborhood Parade theme is “Surf City Dreamin,” so watch out for a fleet of aptly decorated specialty and vintage cars, and flatbed trailers with live music cruising Main Street and Huntington Beach neighborhoods. The parade route will be announced on the morning of July 4th.

To participate or watch the Surf City 5K Run, make your way to the pre-designed course on Goldenwest that spears through Huntington Central Park. The race will have staggered start times, as well as a virtual version to facilitate accessibility.
