El Capitan Canyon lies in the Santa Ynez Mountains overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline and has as its mantra, “Something for everyone.” The to-die-for glamping village in the canyon, which is comprised of cedar cabins and yurts, proves that they mean it. This is no ordinary lodging site.
At El Capitan Canyon, cedar cabins are situated throughout the scenic canyon, each with its own gorgeous surroundings, and views ranging from ocean to mountain to canyon. There is even an ADA Queen cabin, so no one needs to miss out on the experience.
Every cabin at El Capitan features peak ceilings, private bathrooms, heating, and kitchenettes. Outside, each cabin has a private fire pit with removable grill, a private picnic table and seating area.
Choose from a variety of sleeping arrangements with luxurious bedding and fine linens, including king, queen, and double beds. Some cabins have lofts with additional sleeping space.
In addition to individual cabins, El Capitan offers a two-cabin “meadow suite,” perfect for groups and families vacationing together. The two cabins are joined by a common patio and fire pit. Each cabin features a King bedroom, and one has additional sleeping space in a large three-twin loft, plus a full kitchen.
The ultimate in cabin luxury, the Safari Cabin Suite features panoramic ocean and canyon views, vaulted ceilings, a full kitchen, bedroom and living room fireplaces, master bedroom, and upstairs loft.
Freestanding Adventure Yurts offer a less formal glamping option. Each yurt is freestanding and is outfitted with a microwave, small refrigerator, ceiling fan, and heater. They each also have a private picnic table and fire pit outside. A grill allows you to use the pit for both warmth and outdoor cooking.
El Capitan yurts can be described as rustic elegance, with natural materials wooden floors and lattice, and comfortable furnishings. The raised roof has a domed skylight so you can watch the stars from the comfort of your indoor space. Each yurt sleeps four with a queen-size bed and a twin daybed with pull-out trundle bed.
Restroom facilities for the yurts are close by and feature spacious private showers, each with an attached changing room.

The Canyon Market is far more than a typical campground general store. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and take-out are available from the kitchen. Grab a coffee, a picnic to go, or a full BBQ kit for your cabin or yurt. You can even place an online order and have it delivered so you can stay in.
The market also carries an extensive selection of wines, food and snacks, outdoor supplies, and of course, all sorts of fun merchandise.
El Capitan Canyon also offers a special event venue in a spectacular natural setting. The canyon is open to group retreats, nature camps, full-property festivals, weddings, and more. Soft-sided indoor event spaces range from 700 to 2400 square feet, while outdoor spaces offer a gorgeous backdrop for campfire gatherings and al fresco dining.
