Created by Sioux Falls residents Thomas L. (an inventor and industrialist) and Marie (an art lover) Fawick, the couple commissioned a sculptor to travel to Italy and recreate the world-famous works of art, which the artist did by working closely with the government to make exact, full-sized replicas.
