This Waterpark Campground In South Dakota Belongs At The Top Of Your Summer Bucket List
Our two favorite things to do on a summer day in South Dakota are splashing at a waterpark, and heading to the hills for a camping trip. At this campground in Custer, you can do both!
When you're ready for a fun-filled weekend in the Black Hills, head to Beaver Lake Campground. You'll find it at
12005 West U.S. Hwy 16 Custer, South Dakota 57730.
This campground is filled with trees, so it's got plenty of shade to keep you cool on hot summer days. The campground has sites for tents and all sizes of RVs. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings.
If you'd prefer something a little more cozy, rent one of the nine rustic sleeping cabins that have heating/air conditioning and cable TV.
Enjoy indoor plumbing and hot showers in any of the four bathrooms/shower houses, free of charge if you're camping overnight. There's one shower house that's fully ADA-accessible for guests with special needs.
You'll love playing in the pool and on the waterslide! For a small fee, you can purchase a pass to enjoy the water park all day long.
Splash in the pool to your heart's content...
...or fly down the waterslide!
The campground has an area for horseshoes, volleyball and a basketball hoop, as well as lawn games that are available at the office.
There's also a playground tucked in among the trees for the kids.
Forgot something? You can probably find it at the General Store. The office has an Internet Lounge, laundry room and other services, such as propane bottle fills and firewood available for purchase.
You'll love a weekend at this shady campground in the woods! The campground is open from March 15th through November 10th.
