And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:
1. Bobkat's Old Fashion Purple Pie Place (Custer)

2. Old Market Eatery (Brookings)
Question: what goes best with the homemade cupcakes, New York cheesecake, and ice cream from the Old Market Eatery + Bake Shoppe + Bar?
Answer: A cocktail that is as sweet as the dessert itself! The next time you visit, be sure to check the drink menu for decadent sips like this pictured beauty.
3. CH Pâtisserie (Sioux Falls)
For the best French desserts outside of, well, France, there is no place better to be than the famous CH Pâtisserie in Sioux Falls! What do French desserts consist of? Try macarons, melt-in-your-mouth pastries, and the pictured Passion Raspberry Eclair. Délicieuse!
4. Cafe Brule (Vermillion)
For even more Parisian delights, you will want to head to Vermillion, as their unbeatable Cafe Brule boasts a menu of vanilla champagne cake, Crème Brulé, tortes, and lemon curd bars. (Do you want to sink your teeth into this picture? Those beauties are chocolate and vanilla champagne cake balls.)
5. The Cookie Jar Eatery (Sioux Falls)
Who stole a cookie from the cookie jar? We stole a cookie from the cookie jar (and we regret nothing, thanks to flavors like ginger cream, monster, and chocolate chunk)! In addition to the cookies themselves, the Cookie Jar also makes yummy PB Blast, Caramel Thunder, and Special K bars.
6. Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates (Deadwood)
Do you have an affinity for homemade candy? While this decadence can be hard to track down in this day and age, there is one place in SoDak that does it right, which is the Chubby Chipmunk! Which kind of chocolate will you try first?
7. Donut Shoppe (Huron)
While it isn't so much a dessert as it is the most important meal of the day, you will still want to treat yourself to an iconic Donut Shoppe treat, which includes not only their famous donuts but also fritters, caramel rolls, and twists.
