This 30-Acre U-Pick Strawberry Farm In South Dakota Is The Perfect Way To Spend An Afternoon
South Dakota’s most profitable industry is agriculture, so it only makes sense that fresh produce and flowers are easy to come by around the Mount Rushmore State. While you could go to the grocery store to buy your fruits and vegetables, we have found that it is more fun to pick your own, which is exactly what you can do at this 30-acre u-pick South Dakota farm:
Located in the eastern SoDak town of Aurora is Sanderson Gardens, which is famous for offering "new food at used prices."
Beginning in early June, the lush Gardens turn into a sea of red, as juicy strawberries begin to appear atop the bushes, resulting in a unique feast for the senses.
Once strawberry season ends, be sure to come back to visit for all of your other produce needs, as asparagus and rhubarb are ready in May, raspberries in August/September, and pumpkins in October.
