The Enchanting South Dakota Store That Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again
(Note: as of September 2020, this store is permanently closed).
Most children have at least one teddy bear, and they often form a special attachment with their bear that lasts through childhood. Jackie Miley grew up in foster care and never had a teddy bear. Now she lives in Hill City, and she’s become somewhat famous…for her collection of teddy bears.

Once she settled into her new job, Jackie visited local thrift stores and started adding to her bear collection. Soon she had a lot of bears, and people flocked to the motel to see them. Many brought bears of their own to add to her collection. In 2005, Jackie sent an itemized list that included her collection of 3,610 bears to The Guinness Book of World Records, and it was official - she had the largest teddy bear collection in the world!
